Organic cotton care instructions
Organic cotton long sleeve shirts have less environmental impact than standard cotton and often has more character and a better hand than heavily treated fabrics. The Encampment Company supports sustainable agriculture by sourcing materials that use less toxic chemicals during and after harvesting. By using organic cotton in our shirts we are doing our part to bring the world better clothing.
- Hand wash/Machine wash (gentle)
By hand washing with cold water you are saving water and energy as well as the fit of your long sleeve organic shirt. If you choose to machine wash you will get a small amount of vertical shrink as the cotton warp fibers are agitated during the wash cycle, this is normal for all clothes and organic cotton shirting does not shrink any more than other fabrics.
- Hang dry
To dry your organic long sleeve shirt all you need to do is put it on a hanger and let it line-dry. The material will retain its size and color much better if you do not machine wash.
- Iron with light steam
The organic cotton we use for our shirts can be ironed as needed at a low setting with or without steam.Back to shop
